Aisha Poitevien

Aisha is a fundraiser, community activist and constant learner. Growing up on the Caribbean island of Haiti has shaped her values of community, family, and determination. It also helped Aisha be aware of the economic, social and environmental issues facing Caribbean islands. This encouraged Aisha to pursue a career where she could tackle these humanitarian and systemic issues - she has been working in the non-profit sector for the last seven years.

Aisha holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She is passionate about the environment, immigration and women's rights issues. As a Director at the Caribbean Women's Society, she is working on fostering a thriving Caribbean-Canadian community. Aisha enjoys being outdoors, travelling and spending time with her friends and family.
